“The German American Chamber of Commerce had been a relatively small organization and very much behind the times as far as technology is concerned. As a non-profit, government organization, watching costs is very important and IT support was one area where costs were often cut.
However, this year we experienced a lot of growth in our organization and all the IT problems we had been dealing with quickly caught up with us. We have had them add software, make constant changes to our computer settings and structure, etc. Because we have total support we are able to look into the future and find ways to improve our business. “How hard could it be to move the IT resources of a 25 person company? I mean you just shut down the servers, move them to the new space and turn them on again, right? That’s what we thought when Ripple gave us a quote for handling the IT aspects of our move.
At first we thought the price was kind of high, but we wanted to make sure the move went smoothly. In retrospect, it was a bargain. We had no idea what it takes to move an IT infrastructure. Ripple sure did. They started months before the move and worked with our contractors to recommend HVAC, power and network specifications for our server room. They recommended a network cabling company and helped communicate our requirements to them. They worked with our internet service and phone providers to coordinate the data and voice services as well as making sure our email found us after we moved. Above all else, they constantly served as the facilitator between all these different parties to make sure everything happened when and where it was supposed to happen. They kept everyone informed the entire time, and if we ran into something unexpected, they quickly determined our options and presented them to us so we could make an informed decision.
Our new office functions perfectly from an IT standpoint. Looking back, we know that if we had tried to do this without Ripple it would have cost us thousands in delays, problems, and aspirin.”
